+ Purpose and legal basis of the data processing
You can rest assured: We process your data in the central Customer Data Administration department of the German BAUHAUS companies (www.bauhaus.info/gesellschaften, page only available in German) purely for the purpose of answering your enquiries, fulfilling and processing contracts (including payment processing), for our own advertising purposes and for fulfilling our legal obligations. Data is processed on the basis of the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz).

The data that you enter in the form entitled "Your personal data" is used by us to answer your enquiries, to carry out pre-contractual measures and, should contracts be entered into, to fulfil these contracts.
The legal basis for data processing is GDPR Art. 6(1) point b.
Competition
The participant's personal data will be used exclusively for implementing the competition contract, i.e. for determining the winners and delivering the prizes within the EU (legal basis: GDPR Art. 6(1) point b) and will then be deleted after 3 months. Any additional use of the data for advertising purposes will take place only if the participant gives consent. The personal data provided on the participation card is required for participation and for running the competition.
The site does not use cookies.

+ Duration of data storage
We store your data for as long as required for the relevant purpose:
If a data storage period stipulated by the tax authority (for tax invoices and documents) applies to certain data that is used for processing sales contracts, the storage period is 6 or 10 years. During this period, processing of the data is restricted. The obligatory storage period begins at the end of the calendar year in which the offer was submitted or the contract was fulfilled.
+ Rights of data subjects
Your rights as a data subject are fully guaranteed by the BAUHAUS companies.
Objection to the use of data for advertising purposes:
You can object to your data being used for advertising purposes at any time and with effect for the future without incurring any costs other than transmission costs according to basic tariffs. The following contacts are available to you for this purpose.
Withdrawal of consent:
You can withdraw your consent to the processing of personal data at any time and with effect for the future. Please note, however, that you may then be required to re-enter your data before you make another purchase. This also applies if you object to further use of your customer account data in the BAUHAUS Online Shop.
Right to object to the processing of data according to GDPR Art. 6(1) point e or f
You shall have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to processing of your personal data which is based on point (e) or (f) of GDPR Article 6(1), based on the following provisions:
- processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller, or
- processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the controller or by a third party, except where such interests are overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject which require protection of personal data, in particular where the data subject is a child.
If you file an objection, we will no longer process your personal data, unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. This also applies to profiling that is based on these provisions.

With regard to your stored personal data, you have the following rights vis-à-vis the controller:

The BAUHAUS AG Mannheim branch assures fulfilment of the rights of the data subject in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation.
There is also a right of appeal to the supervisory authorities.
